Principal Climate Specialist

Background:

Iain Watt, Principal Climate Specialist, Forum for the Future

Iain has over twenty years’ experience advising and challenging business on climate change, carbon strategy, and sustainability more broadly. He currently leads Forum for the Future’s work on climate, helping Forum’s corporate partners better understand, and respond to, climate risk.

He developed the Forum Climate Challenge, which outlines four essential characteristics of a credible corporate climate strategy, and Forum for the Future’s Climate Risk Framework, which helps companies explore their exposure to the full suite of risks (and opportunities) that climate change poses.

Prior to joining Forum, Iain spent 7 years working at Ceres, a leading U.S. coalition of investment funds, environmental organisations and other public interest groups. In this role, he co-drafted the first two editions of the Global Reporting Initiative’s Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.

Iain has a BA in Geography from the University of Oxford (with a specialisation in climatology), and an MA in Environmental Science and Policy from Clark University, Worcester, Massachusetts.
